The programmatic aims of the Chicago Alumni Chapter can be summarized under two headings:

Community Service
 and
Fraternity Participation

Community Service:

NAACP Tag Day-The year began with men of the chapter working with the Southside Branch of the NAACP. Members distributed tags and collected funds for the civil rights group.

Youth Prevention, Education and Career Development (YPECD)- The chapter arranged speakers for this service program dedicated to saving Black youth.

Real Men Cook- Several members of the chapter participated in this program designed to illustrate the importance of strong Black role models for the community.

Scholarship Program- This chapter continued it's annual scholarship program with the awarding of of five new $1000 scholarships, and continuing support for those students that had received awards in other years. The James Summerower Foundation also gave funds to support the chapter's efforts.

Annual Scholarship Fund Raiser-Brother Frank Horton continued spearheading this annual gala event held in Merriville, IN. Yearly over 500 folks come out for a festive time and to support the chapter's scholarship program

HRDI Summer Camp-The Chapter provides financial support and guest speakers for this social service organization 

Note: Members of the chapter supported many other community agencies dedicated to improving the life chances of those that live in the Black community. Chapter members worked with the Chicago Urban League, NAACP, Pan-Hellenic, health groups, education alliances, and others.

Fraternity Participation:

Kappa Foundation- The Chicago Alumni chapter was the first chapter to have 100% participation in giving individual donations to the Kappa Foundation. The chapter also gives an annual donation to the foundation.

Guide Right- Once again the chapter maintained its commitment to this fraternity program established to help our youth.

Province & Conclave- This chapter not only will have the largest contingent of members attending both of these events, but will have the largest number of members participating on various committees from this province.

Pan-Hellenic- Chicago Alumni participates fully in the programs established through the local pan-Hellenic association.

Other National Programs- Chicago Alumni has the several members that participate on the national program level including, Melvin Hopson, President of the Kappa Foundation, Michael Hubbard, Grand Parliamentarian, Dr. Dan Dixon, Member of the National IT Committee,  Dr. Lucius Earles, Member of the Laurel Wreath Commission and Virgil Perisee, Investigative Protocol & Procedures Committee
